Why Do You Get Nose Bleeds While Pregnant
Why do you get nose bleeds while pregnant I almost never got them before, but now they seem to be coming on all the time. You know you do have an increased blood volume now that you are pregnant. Not to mention your blood vessels have opened up more and became wider. My blood volume has increased so much that it all cannot fit in my body anymore! It is oozing through my face! That's not the only cause. The weather could be making it worse by drying the mucous membranes.
In your nose out. This makes your poor little nose more vulnerable to blood vessel breakage. Pregnancy has taken over every part of my body, not just my torso it seems. What is the best way to stop them I have heard everything from blow your nose to tilt your head backwards. You shouldn't do either one. Keep your face looking forward. Don't tilt it up or down. Do I just let the blood run all over everywhere Of course not. Pinch it and don't let go for a good 10 minutes or so.
I think I might pass out. Well, keep breathing through your mouth. If you start feeling like your are going to pass out or are getting too faint, lay down. Do I lay down on my back No, lay down on your side, with your head slighly elevated. Try laying on the couch with your head on the arm rest. What if it is still bleeding after the 10 minutes are up You may need to keep plugging it for up to 20 minutes. Holding it firmly will help it to clot up faster.
What is Hypertension
Hypertension is a term used to describe high blood pressure. What blood pressure is, is a measurement of the force of the blood as it pumps through your arteries. A normal blood pressure is 120 over 80. The two numbers in a blood pressure, the top number should not be greater than 120, and the lower number should not be greater than 80. The top number is called your systolic pressure and that is a measurement of the force in the arteries as your heart pumps blood. The bottom number is called diastolic blood pressure and that is the measurement of force.
In the arteries when your heart is at rest. Anywhere from 120 over 80 to 140 over 90 would be considered prehypertension. Pre hypertension often leads to high blood pressure, hypertension. Anything greater than 140 over 90 is considered high blood pressure or hypertension. The people at greatest risk for hypertension are AfricanAmericans, also if you have a family history of hypertension, and that's why it's important to know your family history. People who are obese are also at great risk for developing hypertension and longterm stress increases the risk for hypertension. Smoking cigarettes, taking drugs, both street and overthecounter.
Medication are risks for developing high blood pressure and diabetes also puts you at risk for high blood pressure. The symptoms of a high blood pressure are sometimes very vague. It could be something just a simple as headache, also confusion, any visual disturbances. Sometimes nausea and vomiting could also be a sign of high blood pressure and nose bleeds. However, it's important to note that hypertension is called the silent killer because you may be walking around with a very, very high blood pressure and have absolutely no symptoms at all. That's why it is wise to have your blood.
Pressure checked frequently because although you may be feeling perfectly fine, you could have high blood pressure. While there are many causes of hypertension some of the greatest causes would be conditions of the kidney, conditions of the blood vessels and of the nervous system, increased cholesterol also contributes to hypertension and of course, age. As we age, our blood vessels become stiff and that increases our blood pressure. The water and salt ratio in our body contributes to high blood pressure, and also certain hormone levels would also contribute to high blood pressure. Thank.
How to Stop Unruly Blood Clots Without Risky Meds
Hi Shane Ellison for The People's Chemist And today I'm going to address an extremely important question, and that is What is a blood clot and how do I avoid them Blood clots are the result of a chemical cascade by which a blood compound known as fibrinogen is converted into fibrin. This gives rise to a scaffoldinglike structure that halts blood flow. When we bleed, the elastic, fibrin molecules gather and thicken near a wound. The entire process is mandatory for healing. But in excess, blood clots cause heart attack and stroke.
For their ability to halt blood flow all together. The pharmaceutical industry attempts to curb the blood clot threat with blood thinners like aspirin, plavix and coumadin. In an emergency situation, these drugs have immense value. But using them daily is plain stupid. In fact, side effects from prescription blood thinners are the leading cause of hospitalization today! Instead of swallowing risky drugs everyday, it's wiser to understand what causes blood to thicken excessively.and they areDehydration, High triglycerides,Increased sugar levels. Therefore, the best way to ensure healthy blood is to drink plenty of purified water.
Or spring water, avoid sugar and excess fruits and take part in weight training to keep inflammation down. In place of risky blood thinners, and outside of an emergency situation, you can also avoid dangerous blood clots with the natural medicine known as hawthorn and by incorporating asparagus into your diet. In my book, OverTheCounter Natural Cures, I taught the active ingredients in hawthorn are able to keep clots away, without thinning the blood excessively In fact, Harvard University published their findings to report that Indeed, if scientists had tried to design a clotpreventing molecule, they could scarcely have created one more.

Vitamin C Rich Healthy Food For You
Hey guys, summer is here. How are you staying cool this summer The rising mercury levels are leaving all of us feeling dehydrated. Are you guzzling gallons of water Well, being properly hydrated is one thing, but you also need to combine that with a proper summer diet. Now when it's so scorching hot outside, just about any fruit is refreshing. But the combination of kiwi, papaya and raspberry is particularly great. You see they contain a great combination of cancer fighting vitamins and minerals, like vitamin C and Beta Carotene.
In fact, kiwi and papayas contain more vitamin C than oranges which is great for regulating blood pressure. Kiwi and papayas also contain vitamin K which leaves you feeling hydrated and regulates your blood pressure, your nerves as well as your heartbeat. In addition, papaya also has vitamin K which helps with normal blood clotting and helps you absorb calcium. And if you want more fiber and even more vitamin C, throw in some raspberries. And on top of that if you also want to add some protein to the mix, throw in some cheese.
How to Treat a Diabetic Emergency First Aid Training St John Ambulance
Diabetes can be a lifelong medical condition where the body can't produce enough insulin. Sometimes, people with diabetes can have a diabetic emergency where their blood sugar becomes either too high or too low. Not having enough insulin can cause high blood sugar, called hyperglycaemia. If not treated, it can get worse and the person may become unconscious and fall into a diabetic coma. Too much insulin can cause low blood sugar, called hypoglycaemia. Without help, the person may quickly become weak and unresponsive. If you think someone is having a diabetic emergency,.
There are some key symptoms you need to look for. These will help you to decide whether the blood sugar is too high or too low. For high blood sugar, look for warm, dry skin, rapid breathing and pulse, fruity, sweet breath, extreme thirst, drowsiness, leading to unconsciousness if not treated, trembling, a deteriorating level of response, and a medical bracelet or necklace, glucose gel or sweets. For low blood sugar, look for weakness, feeling faint and hunger, confusion or irrational behaviour, sweating with cold, clammy skin, a rapid pulse, medication in the form of an insulin pen or tablets,.
Or a glucose testing kit. If somebody has high blood sugar, call for an ambulance straight away, and say that you suspect hyperglycaemia. While waiting for help to arrive, make sure you keep checking their breathing and level of response. If somebody has a low blood sugar, help them to sit down. If they've got their own glucose gel help them to use it. If not, you'll need to give them something sugary like fruit juice or a fizzy drink, two teaspoons of sugar, or some sugary sweets. If they improve quickly, then give them some more sugary food.
If they've got a glucose testing kit with them, help them to use it to monitor their glucose level. If they don't improve quickly, then look for another cause, and call for an ambulance. While you're waiting, check their level of response, breathing and pulse. If you're not sure whether somebody has high or low blood sugar, give them something sugary anyway. This will quickly relieve low blood sugar, and is unlikely to do harm in cases of high blood sugar. If they don't improve quickly, call for an ambulance. If they lose consciousness at any point,.
Open their airway and check their breathing. Be prepared to treat somebody who's unconscious. So remember when treating a diabetic emergency, try to work out whether their blood sugar is high or low. If it's high, call for an ambulance and keep checking their level of response, breathing, and pulse. If it's low, give them something sugary. If they don't improve, call for an ambulance and keep checking their breathing, level response and pulse. If you don't know whether their blood sugar is high or low, give them something sugary anyway.
